American Friends of the British Museum has been pleased to support specific activity within curatorial and specialist departments across the British Museum. Recent grants from the American Friends have supported:

Department of Africa, Oceania and the Americas for Corazon Del Caribe Research

Department of Ancient Egypt and Sudan for cataloguing and publishing the pre-dynastic collection and to support the Nekhen excavation

Department of Asia for a digital display of the Admonitions Scroll and a curatorial exchange with the Shanghai Museum

Department of Coins and Medals for the digitisation of the numismatic collection

Department of Conservation and Science Research for the conservation of Dürer's Triumphal Arch

Department of Greece and Rome for the major exhibition Defining Beauty: the body in ancient Greek art

Department of Middle East for cataloguing of the Western Asiatic Seals

Department of Britain, Europe and Prehistory for the acquisition of the Lacock Cup
